Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung into Last Four

2008 Olympic gold medalists Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung reached their second semi-final in March as they advanced into Swiss Open semi-final. The Koreans overpowered Chinese Tao Jiaming/Zhang Yawen 21-11 and 21-16 in 45 minutes.

Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung was determined to play in their first final of the year, Last week, they lost to Indonesia's Nova Widhianto and Lilyana Natsir in All England semi-final.

In Swiss semi-final, Lee Yong-dae/Lee Hyo-jung will face Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk of Poland. In the quarter-final, Mateusiak and Kostiuczyk defeated another Korean pair, Yoo Yeon-song and Kim Min-jung, in tough three sets, 21-16, 11-21, and 21-18.

Yong-dae's former men's doubles partner, Shin Baek-cheol, pairing with Yoo Hyun-young, also progress to the semi-final with a 21-9, 13-21, and 21-17 victory over Taiwan's Chen Hung-Ling/Cheng Wen-Hsing.

Shin's success in the mixed doubles is not followed in the men's doubles. With Cho Gun-woo, Shin was vanquished by defending champions, Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong, 17-21 and 14-21.

Dan Fails to Pass the Dane's Challenge

In the men's singles, world champion Lin Dan failed to take advantage of top seed Lee Chong Wei's absence as he bowed down to Danish veteran Peter Gade. The former world number one was defeated in straight sets, 21-16 and 21-17.

This result was quite shocking since Lin Dan often won against Gade in their previous meetings. In 2010 until now, Lin Dan has not even played in semi-final as he lost to compatriot Bao Chunlai All England quarter-final. All England was Lin Dan's first tournament in 2010.

Gade will compete against Chinese Chen Long in the semi-final. In the other half, third-seeded Chen Jin will take on unseeded Du Pengyu.
