The Last Consolation

London - As their two greatest missiles were back to play together again, Arsenal showed their supremacy to Fulham with four goals by Andrei Arshavin, Robin van Persie, Carlos Vela, and a Fulham own goal. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski once again made a clean sheet. After they never won in the last four Premier League matches, this victory was like a refreshing air for the Gunners.

Arshavin, who returned after injury, scored Arsenal's first goalat the 21st minute. The Russian gets the ball to the byline, comes back to a more comfortable angle and firest into the back of the net.

Five minutes later, Theo Walcott controlled the ball on the right and pulled it back to van Persie but hit the bar. But the ball came back to him and smashes it right into the net.

And once again, Walcott crossed from the right but the ball was deflected. Fortunately, Fulham player Chris Baird turned the ball into his own net.

The score was 3-0 until half-time. At the 77th minute, Carlos Vela substituted Arshavin, and he scored Arsenal's fourth goal seven minutes later.

Arsenal finished third in the final standing of the English Premier League with 75 points. Tottenham, losing 4-2 to relegated Burnley, was behind Arsenal with 70. Chelsea won their fourth English Premier League title after finishing Wigan 8-0 with 85 points. Manchester United stayed in the second with one point behind Chelsea.
