Indian Wells (3/22) - Vera Zvonareva sunk the defending champion Ana Ivanovic's hope of winning a title since November 2008. The Russian fourth seed grabbed her second singles title of this year with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory.
Windy conditions made it difficult, but Zvonareva maintained her record of not dropping a set all tournament to clinch the biggest title of her career so far.
It is also her second trophy in as many days - after picking up the doubles title yesterday with Victoria Azarenka whom she beat in the singles semi-final.
Ivanovic made 44 unforced errors in the match, compared to Zvonareva's 16, leading to a championship point.
The Serbian saved it with a good smash, but the twenty-four-year-old Zvonareva won the final on her second championship point when her opponent sent a return long.
